5.16 Fields for Budgeting ↑

5.16.2 Spread

The word Spread can be used as both a label and a type.

A Collection should not have more than one field of type spread.

This field type allows the user to assign one or more months to an associated Amount.

This field is meant to be used for budgeting.

Here’s an example of how it might be defined in a Collection Template File.

Months: <spread>

If the field is left blank, then that will be interpeted to mean that the associated Amount should be assigned identically to all twelve months of the year.

Alternatively, this field might contain one or more month names, separated by spaces and/or commas, to indicate which months of the year should have the Amount assigned.

The month names may be abbreviated to three letters or more.

For example, here’s how you might specify when to make your quarterly estimated tax payments in the US:

Apr, Jun, Sep, Jan
