4.11 Supply Collection Data ↑

4.11.8 Supply an Author Name

As an extension to the original Markdown spec from John Gruber, an author name to be used when formulating an HTML meta author value may be provided as part of the author command, as in the following example:

{:author:Herb Bowie}

When this command is supplied for a Collection, then HTML meta author tags will be generated for every page in the Collection.

Note that HTML meta author tags are not of much significance when viewing a Collection within Notenik, but are of more interest when using the web book export function.

A Note containing this command may appear anywhere within a Collection, and be given any convenient and meaningful title.

Since a Note containing such a command is not meant to be read sequentially as part of the overall Collection, Notenik will generally skip such pages when formatting Streamlined Reading navigational elements.
