Date: 14 Nov 2025 - Friday

Improved Sorting in a Collection Index

The function to Generate a Collection Index will now sort the index entries more in accordance with traditional book indexing rules, dropping any leading articles (“a”, “an” and “the”).

Added Support for Multiple Indexes

When using the Index field type, the user may now specify more than one field of type index, each with its own field label. The Markdown command to Generate a Collection Index can then specify a field label to generate an index for each field separately. For example, a user might wish to have one index for topics, and another for proper names.

Improved Last Name First Sort

When you Change the Sort Sequence to Last Name First, the Date of the entry will now be considered for multiple entries with the same creator name. This is helpful when sorting quotations.

Fixed a Few Seq Problems

Fixed a couple of issues around manipulation of Seq fields.

Added a NavLeft Command

Added a navleft Markdown command to Supply Left Side Navigation for a collection.

Added Some Work Types

Added a few new Work Type values. In particular there are a couple meant to handle the case when you run across a quotation in a book by someone else, and so want to reference both the author of the quotation and the work in which some author featured the quote.

Added a New Starter Pack

Added a Built-In Starter Pack for a Web Book with Bibliography.

Added Streamlined Reading Keyboard Shortcuts

Added new Keyboard Shortcuts to turn Streamlined Reading on and off.

Added an All About Quotations Use Case

I’ve added a page called All About Quotations to the Common Use Cases section. With some recent enhancements, I felt like it was time to pull all the quotations stuff together in one place.
