1.1 Text Editor
You do not need to learn programming in order to take advantage of the features described in this class, but you will need to be able to use a text editor of some sort. I use BBEdit, but you may prefer another text edtor that works on the Mac: Sublime Text, Atom and Visual Studio Code are other popular choices.
Once you get comfortable using a particular text editor, you will probably want to use the macOS Finder to modify all files having your preferred note file extension (‘.txt’, let’s say, or ‘.md’) to open by default using that application.
Then, when you are within Notenik, you can always use CMD-T to open your current note in your text editor, and use OPT-CMD-T to open your collection’s template file (more on these later).
